A great warm-weather plant to have in the garden is zucchini. For kids the big leaves, thick stems and bright yellow flowers are always interesting. Zucchini is a squash vegetable and like my friends, they come in all shapes, sizes and colors. But like the other vining plants, zucchini plants are garden space hogs. They have huge leaves and love to stretch their vines.
If you don’t have a big area to plant zucchini, then try to find a bush type of zucchini. I’ve planted one called Gold Rush and it worked great because it grows into a small bush and still has a lot of yummy zucchini. The skin is actually a gold color rather than green like other zucchini. It’s even small enough that you could grow it in a pot. Cool huh?
