PUMPKIN PICKING...USE YOUR HEAD

10/17/2017

I’ll admit it.  I used to get really stressed out going to the pumpkin patch with the kids to pick out the perfect pumpkin for carving.  All the pumpkins look so cute, crazy and unique that it would take us hours.  I even noticed my little one getting stressed out about and it finally clicked.  Shopping for pumpkins should be easy and fun! It’s not worth getting so overwhelmed that you literally just freeze and can no longer function.  Save that for work.  Pumpkin picking is PLAYTIME!
I took a deep breath and decided to ask why?  Why would this pumpkin be better than another one?  I quickly turned the stress into a fun seeking game.  I decided to be smart about it and use my head…really use my head.

We now choose pumpkins that are the same size as our heads.  Of course, if you want bigger pumpkins, you could find pumpkins as big as your arm.  Smaller pumpkins could be the size of your foot or hand.

This idea makes hunting through the patch really fun. You have to bend down to see if your head matches or lift the pumpkins up.
